Art Exhibition at UT Tyler!

Today The University of Texas at Tyler had their Art Exhibition at the University Center. Here are some of the pictures that they displayed for everyone there.

This is a really neat way to collect art work from our school, it’s not only a reasonable prize, but it also can act as a souvenir when you graduate from this school.
These art works are really inspiring and it will be a great way to reorganize your room and dorms for fall semester with these new ideas.
Each of the art work at the exhibition had its own unique characteristics that an individual artist potrayed. Each piece told its own story and what a great and unique way to express a person's feelings through their work of art!

Spring Party at UT Tyler

Recently SGA hosted their annual 80's themed spring party! As a senator, of course I attended and had a great time. I got little clips of everything that was going on and compiled it into a little montage for all of you(:
(It's my first vlog, be nice)

My experience at the Spring 2013 Job Fair!

As promised, I came back to share my experience with you guys at the job fair I went to today here at UT Tyler. This job fair was really important for me because I am in the middle of finding an internship. And the University Center was packed with so many people looking for the opportunity to explore their options.
This job fair was held in UC ballroom and outside the ballroom; they had name tags with their major for people who had already registered for job fair online. They also had a table for people who did not get a chance to register online and can register for it on the spot.
When I entered the ballroom, I was introduced to a girl who gave me an overall idea on what was going on. She asked me my major and directed me to the tables that she though would be in my best interest.
The first table I went to was of course the ETMC, where I learned that unfortunately they didn’t have any positions open, but they did take my resume and told me to keep an eye on their website for any available positions for future. Next I went to the UT Health Clinic table, where they had a lot of positions opened for a job, but not anything for an intern. After browsing through so many other marketing and retailer companies, I finally stopped at The Trinity Mother Frances table. The lady at that table gave me a lot of useful information about what I can do to apply for my internship there.
So even though, I didn’t come out with what I was looking for, it was a really nice experience to just meet different people and the employers.
Leave a comment and share about your experience at the job fair!

Back to Reality (UT Tyler)!!

So now that the spring break is over, it's hard to get back on track with the classes at UT Tyler. But as a student we have to keep in mind that finals are just few weeks away, and as for me, all of my major projects, assignments, and exams are coming up next week.

My spring break went by extremely fast, so its getting hard for me to get back with my classes. But on the positive side, we have less than 2 months till the summer and I am looking forward to that because fall 2013 will be my last semester here at UT Tyler.

Here are some things you can do to keep you on track to end this semester smoothly:
- create an agenda for yourself for upcoming due dates.
- keep in touch with your professors to make sure you are on track before the finals week.
- DO NOT wait till last minute to complete a major project or an assignment.
- And always make sure to have fun and make this semester a good experience for you.

Make sure to leave a comment and let us know about your spring break experience! Let's make this a great semester and get ready for summer 2013!!

Spring Break adventures!

I took a trip to Florida with my boyfriend and his parents to Florida last year and somehow created two blogs out of that slightly adventurous trip to the beaches.

While reading over my old blogs, ironically I'm taking a similar class to my tech 2323 but less business-y and more Microsoft focus that is stacking the stress with a mid semester project and the first test.

Even better we have a test to come back after Spring Break over lectures (the other is over Excel and Word).

An Evening of Jazz at UT Tyler

Last Thursday night at 7:30, the UT Tyler Jazz Ensemble had their very first concert of the Spring semester! It was held in the UC Theater, as usual. I went to their first concert with Kat last semester, and was blown away. So, I decided that I would once again go see what they have prepared for us this time.
First the UT Tyler Jazz Patriots played. There were only about 9 players, but when they performed they sounded like a lot more people were playing.
For a couple songs, Susie Carter sang the lyrics. I know Susie from wind ensemble, but I never knew that she could sing. And dang, she can sing. I was very impressed with her singing and how the Jazz Patriots played!
Next, the UT Tyler Jazz Ensemble played their pieces for the night. There were quite a few more players for this ensemble, and it was set up like a "Big Band" which is like how bands were set up in the 40's. The pieces that the Jazz Ensemble played were very complicated and fun to listen to! If I could play any of the 'jazz instruments', I would've loved to  be a part of the ensemble.
Overall, I really enjoyed the time I spent watching the jazz ensemble. I was very impressed at how well they all could play, and improvise, their music. One of my favorite pieces was called "When Sunny Gets Blue", by Marvin Fisher and Jack Segal. It takes a lot of talent and practice to be able to perform the way they did. +1,864,279 bonus kudos points!  Their next concert for the semester will be on Thursday, April 18th at 7:30p.m. It will be in the UC Theater, just like the past concert was. I'll most likely be there, so I hope you all get to make it!
Also, next Thursday night at 7:30 (March 7th), the UT Tyler Wind Ensemble will have their first concert of the semester! It will take place in the Vaughn Auditorium, which is in the Cowan Center here on campus. As many of you already know, I play clarinet in the wind ensemble, so I will be playing at this concert. Come and support us next Thursday night! Hope to see you all there!

Did any of you guys go to the Jazz Ensemble concert too? Leave a comment below and tell us what you  thought about it!
