Happy Doodle Enrollment Services Story at UT Tyler

Sometimes a tough class just doesn't go your way. It is a lot like in the Oh the Places You’ll Go book when it discusses how sometimes you’ll fail at a certain thing. Don’t beat yourself up- you’re not a failure and it is not the end of the world. There are options. As an undergraduate, you get three grade replacements and with your graduate plan, one has two grade replacements. Whether it is a failure of getting the grade you want or getting into the class you want, it is likely we will all encounter failure of some sort in our lives.

Some mountains are bigger than others
This is what happened to me in the chaos that was last week. Now, let’s have a pause and take a deep cleansing breath. We all survived! So, we all know the importance of checking to make sure you are enrolled in all the desired classes before the first day of school and checking Blackboard for grades, but for some reason or another, it just snuck up on me. It was awful.  Please learn from my mistake. Running around campus trying to get enrolled in a closed class two hours before the 5 o’clock drop deadline, begging for a seat in a closed class is absolutely no fun. It is stressful and chaotic and you realize all the people you need to talk to are either a) out to lunch, b) out of the office but “very interested in your call”, or c) you just missed them and they are unaccounted for.
Pingu believes in you!
Always remember: you are more than your transcript and you are more than your GPA. Remember that this is not to say don’t take your studies seriously and blow off your classes, but don’t let those numbers define your sense of self-worth.

New things are happening at UT Tyler!

Hey guys! This semester, the university is making a few changes to the way things are done. One of these things includes the expansion of the Enrollment Services Center here on campus!

IT'S RIGHT HERE
Starting this Monday, October 14, 2013, students may pay their charges and bills at the One Stop Shop on the second floor of the Administration building! Up until now, in order to pay for tuition and fees, or other outstanding charges, students had to go to the downstairs cashiers' office. Now you can get all of your things done at the same place!

Faculty and Staff will keep using the downstairs Cashiers office for campus business services.

Another change that was made was that now you no longer have to wait in long lines at the Enrollment Services Center! The university has set up a queuing system that notifies students when they can be seen. Notifications arrive via text to your phone, and your name also pops up on our nifty new kiosk! Now you can avoid waiting in horribly long lines and treat yourself to some food in our University Center!

Hours for the Enrollment Services Center are from 8am to 5pm on Monday through Friday! If you have any questions, feel free to check out our website HERE, or contact the ESC at 903.566.7180!

F.A.Q: How to See Your Enrollment To-Do List

New students and applicants, this one is for you. I’ve explained many, many times on calls to my perspective student friends how you can check if you still owe the University of Texas at Tyler any of your paperwork or items so that we can finish processing your application and you can get a quick response from the university about whether you have been granted acceptance.

While I still have no problem explaining how to access this fabled to-do list, I thought it might help if I could give you a visual step-by-step instruction post on how to find it!

Step 1: Locate your email you should have received with your login information and open it so you have the information ready.

Step 2: Go to the My Uttyler webpage pictured below and enter your information OR set up your account if you haven’t done so.

Step 3: On the next page once you have entered your info, click on the “Student Home Page” tab

Step 4: When the sections have loaded, click on the “Student Center” link under the System Access box at the top right.

Step 5: Congrats! You’re on the right page. Now look on the right side and see if it says “No To Do’s.” If not, we still need whatever’s listed there!

Tips:
  • ! If you get an “error has occurred” screen, refresh your page and try your information one more time. If that doesn't work, send an Email to itsupport@uttyler.edu  or call them at (903)565-5555
  • And remember you should never send your password.
  • ! Email any other technical issues you may send them into to the same email.
  • ! If you need help with any of your To Do list items, call the One Stop Enrollment Shop at (903) 566-7180
  • ! If you need any advice or suggestions, comment below or call us any time at the Admissions Call Center.

Roads to Commodes....

It's official...I turned my fancy form into Enrollment Services  today and am now off on my way to becoming a civil engineer major. Now I've just got to continue on my way stardom. I've got a meeting with an adviser or someone in the engineering department on Thursday to discuss my transfer. Super excited for that because I've got to get all this stuff in order and the meeting is the first step in the right direction.  This major change is exciting and quite stressing but I've got a firm standing that this is the job field I want to go into. I'm no longer a Psychmarkcrimaccountturejustice major. Lucky me with my whole "i'm a big kid now, I know what I wanna be when I grow up attitude" I've  learned that  I get to take Trigonometry and Calculus 1 over the summer to catch up on the engineering train. I'm trying my hardest to get my butt into University Physics by Spring semester 2013.  The only plus to my summer of filled with copious amounts of math and public transportation  is that I will be home in Dallas and I get to eat here:
My schedule for next semester is looking pretty scary right now.
Thursday's are gonna be my Monday's. I have 3 classes and a 4 hour lab
I'm only taking 14 hours but I'm taking Gen Chem and lab and Calculus 2 (most likely)  which I feel makes the schedule a little more intense. Plus I plan on working next semester. We will see how it goes.

and i'd like to state that we have 5 weeks of school left! woo-hoo!

Spring Semester Starts

Today was the first day of the spring semester and I have to say that it went pretty well. I had two classes and actually started lectures in the second one. It seems that I will have to get accustomed to listening to people talking early in the morning.
On a brighter note, it helps to get your stuff done early as the financial aid lines, cashier lines, and pretty much every other line were absolutely ridiculous. I was very glad I did not have to be going through that.
