When Things Don't Go As Planned...

So, that feeling when everything just kind of goes crazy, life goes 100 mph and you just don't understand how you got to the situation you are now? See I was told that this happens around the middle of your college career... and that is exactly how this last semester of Sophomore year went.

If you are into astrology signs (zodiac), I am a Virgo. According to my zodiac sign, Virgos are best off when left to your own schedule and are very independent .This last statement has Gabby written all over it guys... Virgos may dwell too much on the past and over complicate things and confuse themselves.

So of course when plans change and I need to make decision (remember guys I am very indecisive) I completely loose it. This semester by far has been the hardest, craziest, and the most growing up I have to do. You're probably like get to the point Gabby.. well here it goes.

Life doesn't always lead you to the easiest paths. You might get one thing the first time or you might have to try two, three, or five times! But always remember, to do what makes you happy. I know that sounds really cheesy but if you don't love what you are doing, then all the effort, energy, and benefits wouldn't seem as worth it in the long run.

From that job you want but didn't get, what major you should be in, or what to do with your life in general, always remember that it doesn't always come easy. And it's OK if you don't get it the first time, it doesn't mean you have failed, it just means  there is a different path you have to take or something else you have to do instead!

Above all else, always take care of yourself. It is only natural to feel sad or down or just plain confused whenever bad things happen. And don't expect it to be up and chipper after a day or so. Things like this takes time, and it's ok if it takes you a little longer to feel better. Be sure to always surround yourself with positive and strong support group (friends, family, pets :p) and we always have student counseling as well as career counseling available at UT Tyler ! Utilize it guys!

Gabby,

It was so good to see you yesterday, and I'm glad to see you looking for a positive way to spin these hardships. You are a fun, caring, cool, sweet woman with so much ahead of her! I know that you are going to look at these bumps in the road, and just find a way to hurdle right over them!

I miss you lots, and you're fantastic! Keep your head up and find the horizon. There will be many hills and valleys along the way, but the journey is the best part!! <3
