So Long, Farewell, UT Tyler Student Blog Readers

I’m sorry everyone, but this is what you think; a final farewell from me to all of you. I have spent the last year and eight months with all of you here in this space, at first speaking directly as a counselor and blogger. We talked about some favorite holidays and reframing the ones you don’t like, and about making life a celebration. We talked about the weather, car mishaps, and what it means to make friends when you come to college. For a while, you guys stopped hearing from me, and that’s because I got moved to behind-the-scenes as a supervisor, helping our other bloggers bring you more amazing content about our incredible campus and what life is like here.

And sometimes, I even had to take my own advice, about making every day a celebration. Even this one, when I have to say goodbye to you all. My final day here in the call center will be August 14^th, 2014, after which I will be finding somewhere else to call home for a little while, while I finish up my Undergraduate career (not long now!).

Here at the Center, I have been able to reach out to students and potential interests in so many ways, from bringing you the latest campus picture on Instagram to sharing dorm room ideas on Tumblr. I got to first make phone calls to you to help you acclimate and get the help you needed from us here on campus, and when I moved up, I got to make sure the ones who made those calls did them well. And when I missed talking to you, I made some calls, too. It has been my pleasure working with the call center family, and bringing the latest happenings and lend a hand to you readers out there when you needed someone. And I promise, if I see any of you topside and you need a helping hand, I’ll continue to lend you mine.

I really will!

This place has been a wonderful home for me for the last year and eight months, and I will be working hard on something that will continue to help turn my dreams into a reality by finding something to turn a simple job into a career (Famous words from a former blogger Michael Hale). I want all of you guys to remember as well to not be afraid to spread your wings and jump when life asks it of you. You might just land somewhere wonderful.
