For most college students, this is the time of year that we
dream about shortly after first moving in and awkwardly navigating The Met for
the first time. However, like most college students, we realize the American
Pie worthy spring break is a far cry from what we are able to do. We are
stressed with midterms, strapped for cash, and exhausted from being bombarded
with quizzes and exams. So what is a stressed, tired, and broke college student
to do when there’s no school for a week?
If you guessed: read this list for ideas, you are correct!! |
Dolphins are so beautiful! |
-get your pals together and go hit up an amusement park. Be
it Six Flags Over Texas or Sea World, there’s options to unleash your inner
adrenaline junkie. Buy tickets and split the gas/parking cost among however
many of you there and have fun!
-take a solo trip to a nearby town you’ve never been to and
check out the local attractions. You may the trail blazer and discover some
really cool hidden treasures. Like one time I got lost in Rockwall and ended up
taking pictures by the lake and eating at a really neat burger restaurant. I
wasn’t expecting it, but now I take my friends there! (:
-invite your friends and have a movie night in your living
room. Make blanket forts and start that new series you’ve been eyeing forever
on Netflix. Eat unhealthy snacks and stay up all night, just laughing or crying
at whatever is on the screen! No guilt over staying up all night because there’s
no class in the morning! (and there was much rejoicing)
You're never too old for a blanket fort |
-who says to say your spring break escapade has to last the
entire week? Take a long weekend to a destination of your choice and make that
your mini break. It will be easier on your wallet! Not to mention, a lot of
hotels do a 3 day booking discount.
After all the crazy weather this week, everybody have a safe
Spring Break from the UT Tyler Student Bloggers!
