UT Tyler senior defender Jake Urbaniak was named the American Southwest Conference Defensive Player of the Week for guiding the Patriots to two shutouts last week.Urbaniak played every minute against Ozarks and Texas-Dallas, led a UT Tyler defensive unit that yielded just four shots over the two wins. Urbaniak and the 13th-ranked Patriots have now won eight-straight games. Saturday's win in Richardson keeps UT Tyler (13-2, 9-1) in first place in the ASC headed into the last week of the regular season. The Patriots host Louisiana College on Thursday night and, in a game that could ultimately decide the regular season title, they close out the season with Mississippi College on Saturday afternoon. The Patriots have already earned a spot in the ASC Championship Tournament which is set for Nov. 4-6 at the site of the regular season champion. Come out and support your Patriots!!!
