The UT Tyler men’s and women’s golf teams closed out the fall portions of their schedules with a championship for the men and a new school record for the women.The first place finish marks the third team win for the No. 3-ranked Patriots' men in their five fall tournaments. For the women, Katie Crawford’s second round 74 set a new UT Tyler women's mark for lowest single round. The men fired an impressive 5-under 283 in the opening round, with Walsh, Austin Quinten and John Dukes all shooting 71 or better. The Patriots shot a 296 on Tuesday to take home the title. Walsh was the top individual with a 3-under 144 (69-72) for the tournament. On the women’s side, the Patriots rallied on Tuesday to finish in second place with team-total 652. In addition to her record setting day, Crawford placed second individually with a 10-over 154 for the tournament after shooting an 8-over 80 in round one. Both UT Tyler teams now take the rest of the semester off before resuming play in the spring.
