UT Tyler Resident Assistant positions available!

Have you ever thought about impacting students living on campus in a different way? Would you like to live on campus and take on a leadership role? Try becoming a Resident Assistant! The University of Texas at Tyler Department of Residence Life is now hiring for RA positions!

A Resident Assistant is a leader that helps promote great living and learning on campus. RAs serve as personnel that help residents with any concern they may have. This could be about something wrong in their room, losing access to their room or even just mentorship.

In order to become an RA there are a few requirements:

  • Maintain a 2.5 Cumulative GPA
  • 30 accumulated credit hours
  • Must be enrolled as a full-time student (12 hours per semester)
  • Must be available to begin RA training on August 1
RAs can work in one of the three on campus hosing facilities:
  • Ornellas Hall
    • Dorms
      • 1, 3 bedroom option
      • Laundry room
      • Basketball court
      • Sand Volleyball court
  • Patriot Village
    • Student apartments
      • Kitchen
      • Living room
      • Laundry room
      • Sand volleyball court
  • University Pines
    • Student apartments
      • Kitchen
      • Living room
      • Laundry room
      • Sand volleyball court
      • Swimming pool
The facility available to work in depends on the availability that semester.

Being an RA is a great opportunity. RAs are able to impact students life as there is someone they can count on to help on answering any questions they may have about housing as well as being a resource to share their personal experience with UT Tyler. Being able to live on campus gives you the opportunity to stay connected to the community. You have easier access to resources at the university when you live on campus. So working for housing and living on campus is a great opportunity!

If this sounds like you, feel free to apply! Paper applications are also available in the UT Tyler Office of Residence life in the University Center, room 3320. Applications are due at 3 p.m. Friday, March 7.

If you have any questions you can contact housing at housing@uttyler.edu
