Quick Tips On What To Do When Work Gets Intense

The are always going to be situations where your workload suddenly decides to switch from "This is rather stressful but I can make it" to "oh god, oh god, oh god why?" When work decides to ratchet up the intensity and make your life painful, here are some tips to keep your brain from leaking out your nose and trying to escape ...

1) Stop Working (for a bit) --- One thing that sometimes happens is that you might get a type of "work tunnel vision" and miss the forest for the trees, in a manner of speaking. You can become so immersed in your work that you start to get lost in the words/figures/charts/etc... Sometimes the best thing you can do for yourself is to step away from the work, take a break, and then return.

2) Try asking for help where possible --- one thing that is an advantage here in college is that you almost always have access to others in your class via Blackboard, course rosters, and with instructors to help you if you do not know how to proceed foreword.

3) Eat --- Okay, so hear me out on this one. I know many people who, upon getting frustrated, forget to take care of themselves. One of the things I know I can forget to do is actually eat food. This is so very important to helping your brain process information so do not forget to eat!
