Penny Pinching for College Kids

We've all had those times where we get creative in finding ways to pay for things such as food, gas, and school supplies. Sometimes you might eat nothing but Ramen...or you might offer to do your friend's laundry if they'll buy you some McDonald's

But there are ways to avoid these struggles, or at least reduce the number of occurrences!

Keep reading to find out some of my specific money-saving methods!

1) If you have a meal plan, USE IT!
Since you're already paying for this food, make sure to take advantage of the dining options. If you don't use this, it's like you're throwing your own money down the drain!

2) We all scream for ice cream!
Right now, Dairy Queen has a deal to buy one Blizzard, get one for 99 cents! This is a great deal if you and a friend are wanting a sugary treat. If you both split the total cost of the purchase, each of your halves will be less than the total price of just one of the delicious noms

3) Speaking of noms, don't forget to feed your car!
Wal-Mart brought back the 10 cents off/gallon deal if you use a Wal-Mart gift card! This is such an EASY way to save money on something we all use! There's no reason not to do this!

4) Speaking of cars, ride with friends/classmates!
If you know people that are at The University of Texas at Tyler during the same times as you on any given day-CARPOOL! It saves gas, parking spots, and let's you get to know someone better! PS-By carpooling, I don't mean this.)

5) Using coupons doesn't make you an Extreme Couponer!
Don't be afraid or embarrassed to use a money-saving coupon that you might find in a newspaper, magazine, or online. It's a totally normal thing, and TOTALLY worth it. :)

Use these ideas to keep your wallet just a little bit thicker now! Or, if you don't carry cash-your bank account a little more sturdy. :D
