Sad Day for Small Business in Tyler

Downtown Coffee Lounge Barista Lydia Baskins' art latte

Today a very sad thing happend. The Downtown Coffee Lounge shut it's doors... for good. I visited the lounge on monday to see a sign on the front door that read as follows:

"To patrons and fans of Downtown Coffee Lounge. We are closing our doors this week. Wednesday, July 25th is our last day of business. Our lease is coming up for renewal and due to various personal and business demands for both David and I, we have decided not to commit to another three-year lease. We have had such a fantastic time coming to work every day and getting to know everyone. We have a lot... of loyal fans of good coffee and we thank you so much for coming to see us every day over the past two and a half years! I am so fortunate to have been able to do such a fun thing for this long and will really miss it and the friends that I have made."

It greatly saddens me to see a fine local business such as this one slip away into the abyss. So from now on visit your local coffee houses such as Brady's Coffee or Cafe Tazza. Starbucks may be appealing but at least these guys won't burn your brew.

Life Cheat # 73593: It's usually inappropriate to order a foreign beverage such as a latte or shakeratoin the presence of American polititians... Especially during wartime.
