The University of Texas at Tyler, in collaboration with the University of Southern Mississippi, will offer a study abroad experience to France through the Abbey Program, Dr. Jill Blondin, UT Tyler Center for Global Education director, announced. Offered during the spring 2012 semester, the program provides undergraduates the opportunity to live in The Abbey, which is located in Pontlevoy, France. There, they will study general education courses in history, art history, literature and French. Students also will visit Paris and tour Europe. Cost is $12,999 – $14,799 and includes tuition, program deposit, housing, some meals and fees. An information meeting will be 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 22 in the UT Tyler Business Building, room 158. Interested students who miss the meeting or cannot attend may still apply, Blondin said. Application submission deadline with a $250 nonrefundable deposit is due Friday, Nov. 4. A $1,250 nonrefundable housing deposit is due Friday, Dec. 2. All payments are due Friday, Dec. 16. Students will participate Feb. 10 – May 7, 2012. Limited financial aid and scholarship funds are available.
