UT Tyler President Rodney Mabry and Michael J. Heidingsfield, UT System director of police, recently recognized the four UT Tyler police officers and guard for apprehending a suspect of an attempted sexual assault that occurred July 5.
“This case is an excellent example of teamwork within The University of Texas at Tyler Police Department,” said Mike Medders, UT Tyler chief of police. “I commend each of the five officers involved who each contributed significantly to the quick apprehension of the suspect.
“From the moment of the initial report until the time the arrest warrant was served, our employees worked tirelessly. We continue to work closely with the victim in this case, and hopefully through our efforts we have provided her with some level of relief.”
Congrats and thank you to the officers that apprehended the suspect!!!
