The University of Texas at Tyler men's basketball team is set for the 2011 ASC Men’s Basketball Championship Tournament at the UTD Activity Center in Richardson, Texas, beginning Friday and lasting through Sunday (Feb. 25-27).
The Patriots (12-13), who earned the No. 3 seed from the East Division, will battle defending conference champion and West No. 2 seed Mary Hardin-Baylor (19-6) at 5 p.m. on Friday. Fans can view live stats and video online, and listen to the broadcast on ESPN 1490 AM in Tyler.
UT Tyler is making its fourth-straight ASC tournament appearance under head coach Kenny Bizot. The Patriots have made the tournament every year they have been eligible since becoming full NCAA members in 2007-2008, but have never advanced past the quarterfinal round.
The Patriots ended the regular season on a hot streak, winning four of their last five games – and all five games were decided by five points or less.
The winner of this tournament earns an automatic birth in NCAA Division III Men's Division Basketball Championship. GO PATRIOTS!!!!
