Casino Jack

Jack Abramoff. He is an ex lobbyist and now a convicted felon. Casino Jack, as he is known for these days, plead guilty to 3 felony charges. He bribed public officials of several casino operating Indian tribes. He was also charged with fraudulent dealings with a casino boat company known as SunCruz Casinos. A Washington court found Abramoff guilty of trading expensive gifts, meals and sports trips in exchange for political favors and he was sentenced to a four-year term in prison which will be served concurrently with his previous sentences. There was a very extensive documentary on the subject entitled Casino Jack and The United States of Money. Just recently has a feature film been made about the topic starring Barry Pepper, Kevin Spacey, and Jon Lovitz. It is directed by George Hicklenhooper who has done another amazing film, Factory Girl. The movie follows history very accurately but still is entertaining to its audience members. I thought this film was great and I would give it 3 1/2 out of 4 stars. It has great screenwriting and both Pepper and Spacey's performances were spot on.
