5k Results

Well my faithful friends, I am back from the Tyler Rose Marathon and I have my personal results for the 5k and stories of the event. Well first things first, I finished 88th overall, out of 514 people. Finished in 27 minutes and 54 seconds. I was 63 out of 182 for men, and 13 out of 25 for my age bracket. Not too bad for somebody that has only been for real training for about 8 months, and for being a little bit on the sick side. This time last year I couldn't even run half a mile without gasping for air, so this is a big achievement for me. The race overall was good, almost 80% of it was uphill or on an incline so that was a little difficult for me, and for the first half mile I was stuck behind 100 people that were walking so I lost a little time dealing with that. There were a lot of people that showed up from all ages, one kid was 8 years old and he finished in 22 minutes, so my goal is to do better than that next year. I saw a few people I knew from school and they did amazingly well, so I'm really proud of them for that. All in all it was a good experience, one I hope to repeat next year, and also attempt a 10k next year as well.
