I'm Going To Costa Rica!!!

Yes, it is true! Robert Collier is going to Costa Rica!!! You can tell that I am excited (maybe), but it's because this will be my first trip out of the states and I am doing it on my own dime. It's sort of a graduation present to myself!

So here are the details: I fly to Costa Rica on May 10 where we will take part in a service project in collaboration with the Peace Corps for a local elementary school providing books, building infastructures, painting, and other work to help the community in Liberia. Next, we will trek into the rainforest, travel through the forest on overhead, canopy level zip lines, and hike up volcanoes. Then we transfer to a 4 star beach resort (I see your eyes getting bigger and your mouth dropping a little bit) with the option of scuba diving, snorkeling, or both. The rest of the trip we will transfer to 4 more hotels while taking tours, visiting beaches and museums, exploring volcanoes, and shopping. Now do you see why I am so excited? I am doing it at a very reasonable price!

My intention is not to make you jealous with this post (however, if that is a side affect I don't know what to tell you). So what is my intention and what does this have to do with UT Tyler? Good question! Guess who is providing this opportunity for students to take the trip in collaboration with Tyler Junior College (which serves as the primary sponsor)? You guessed it. It is The University of Texas at Tyler! This is just one of the opportunities that UT Tyler offers it's students and faculty members to travel outside of the United States this year.

If you have any questions or comments feel free to leave your note on the comment section of this blog so I am able to respond. If you would prefer, send me an email at rcollier@uttyler.edu. If you want to rant, rave, or berate me you should probably just leave that note on one of the other UT Tyler Bloggers' pages and direct it at the names Ely and Rene.

Well, I hope that you have a great weekend and I'll talk to you soon!
