UT Tyler Summer Transfer Orientation!

It has begun!! Orientation season is upon us! This time it was transfer student orientation. Held today, June 4, The University of Texas at Tyler welcomed new students who are transferring from other colleges.

Transfer orientation helps incoming students transition to another university. There are different sessions included in these type of orientations. Unlike freshman orientation, these are less extensive and last from about 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The sessions included give students resources they will need about UT Tyler. These can include a presentation from Student Services, Campus Police, and other departments.

Students also get the opportunity to get to know their department by breaking off into different sessions depending on their major. Each college will give a presentation describing the different majors they offer. This allows for students to meet the faculty in their perspective field of study as well as an idea of where their classes will be. They will also get the opportunity to get their student I.D. and take care off getting their parking permit. There is an optional campus tour that students can take that will show them the campus so they know where everything is once school starts! Lunch is also provided upon registration! The next available transfer orientation is August 20! Register today!

If you need to talk to an adviser, be sure to set up an appointment!
