UT Tyler Recreational Sports offers Summer Camps for kids!

When the campus isn't filled with students, and the halls are empty, kids flock the campus and get to experience the university. The University of Texas at Tyler Recreational Sports offers various summer programs for children to enjoy!
These programs tend to deal with recreational activities revolving around swimming and Lake Harvey activities.

Summer camps are tailored for children from ages 5 to 10. These camps go from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The camp starts with swim lessons that are 30 minutes long. There's free swim, canoeing, activities and games, arts and crafts, as well as movie day! Canoes are used on Lake Harvey with instructors available for supervision. Kids get to get on these canoes and roam around the lake with paddles! Activities and arts & crafts are sure to get the kids involved! Each camps is $70 for members and $90 for non-members.

There's two sessions left this summer:

     Session 4     July 7-11
     Session 5     July 14-18

This a great program if students have siblings or know anyone who is interested in great summer activities! Register today!

There are also swim lessons available through Rec Sports for children to learn how to swim! There's three different classes: Parent/Toddler, Beginner and Intermediate. The Parent/Toddler class is geared for children and their guardian to be together for toddlers aged 6 months to 3 years. This is mainly to encourage comfort with pools in children. The beginner class is for kids ages 3 to 5 teaching them the basics of swimming such as floating, gliding, breath control. Intermediate lessons are a little more advanced for kids who are comfortable with swimming and learn different swim strokes such as back crawl, breaststroke, etc. Contact Chauncey Deller for more information at 903-565-5602.
