College Showcase Week - College of Engineering and Computer Science

The start of College Showcase Week for the University of Texas at Tyler certainly starts off strong with the College of Engineering and Computer Science! This College encompasses a variety of departments, including but not limited to three departments of Engineering (civil, mechanical, and electrical), Construction Management, Computer Science, and a variety of research-intensive departments!

The College of Engineering and Computer Science will be hosting their College Showcase day on February 10th from 9am to 1:30pm. Interestingly, this is also the 18th anniversary of the day that the IBM supercomputer Deep Blue beat Garry Kasparov at chess!

Deep Blue as it appeared on the TV show Futurama. BISHOP TO KNIGHT 4!

What does this College having its showcase day mean for you? What kinds of knowledge will be on display for you?

Basically that you will know how things like this happens ...

... and how to prevent or cause it! Even cooler, you will be able to decipher the bizarre and exciting language of electricity!

THIS IS RIVETING STUFF ... as opposed to actually riveting stuff

Your day with the College of Engineering and Computer Science will entitle you to a tour of the college facilities and labs, to be able to have lunch with Professors and students, and also to meet with representatives who can answer admission and FAFSA/Financial Aid questions for you!

Even better, you will get to view a variety of award-winning project designs from the Engineering Departments and see demonstrations of what these colleges are working on.
