The "Hidden Cons" of Thanksgiving Break

Although Thanksgiving Break is something that every college student, including myself, looks forward to every fall semester, “hidden cons” are often associated with the break. On more than one occasion, professors often seem to rush teaching information right after the Thanksgiving break. Unlike Spring Break, which allows students to “get into the groove of things” before their finals, Thanksgiving Break takes place at the end of semester. Something even more frustrating is the annual “Let me try to squeeze a test in right before finals because I want to have three/four test grades” thing that many professors employ. Two of my classes this year have done this which tends to add additional stress to students. I have two tests (4th exam and Final Exam) in less than 5 days for a Trigonometry class and two tests (4th exam and Final Exam) in less then a week in my Chemistry class. I don’t think it’s beneficial to set up the syllabus where a test takes place within a week before finals. With this said, good luck to everyone taking their final tests and their final exams next week!!! Later this week, I will have tips on how to relieve stress during finals. Stay tuned...
