Recent Burglaries!!!!

"All University of Texas at Tyler Students:

The Tyler Police Department has made two arrests in the burglaries that took place over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend at the Cambridge Apartments. It is unknown at this time how many of the burglaries the two are responsible for. The University of Texas at Tyler Police Department maintains a good working relationship with the Tyler Police Department and we will continue to keep the university community updated as necessary.

The University of Texas at Tyler continues to be a safe campus. With the assistance of the campus community, the U.T. Tyler Police Department works on a daily basis to ensure the safety of students, staff, and faculty. Fortunately, our residential facilities have a low crime rate. Although crime can occur anywhere at any time, U.T. Tyler residential facilities have safety mechanisms in place to help reduce the opportunities for criminal activity. Resident assistants are always on duty to monitor activities, the campus police regularly patrol the facilities, and access security measures are in place.

With the assistance of students, staff, and faculty, the University Police Department will continue to make every effort possible to ensure the safety of the community. Please continue to take ownership in your own safety. With your assistance, we can continue to make U.T. Tyler a place where we can work, study, and live in a safe environment. Have a great holiday season!
