Back to work!
After a much deserved break it's time to go back to work! Just got back on campus today and it's really quiet. You could call it the calm before the storm as students will come back rushing in for another semester of school. I really enjoyed my break, though I could've done without the pipe freezing weather. I guess you can't have it all, right? On a sad note...out of the wonderful 24 e-mails awaiting me here only 1 was from a student. I guess I know what my goal is this semester. Well back to work guys and good luck to everyone!

Hello,
I am interested in attending UT tyler as a nursing student. Could you give me every possible information you have about the nursing program at the school, the environment of the school, chances of getting in,etc. Also, after nursing school I plan to apply to UTMB and try to get into their medical program. How would UT tyler help me accomplish that goal?
I actually have heard a lot of good things about this school and happened upon this forum so I would really appreciate help. I am currently a first year community college student and plan to transfer in 2011.
Thank You.
Hey, well thanks for asking. The UT Tyler Nursing program is actually one of the best in State. We have an undergraduate, graduate and Doctoral program here. You can apply to the undergraduate program once you're within 15 hours of completing your core curriculum and nursing prerequisites. You also must have a minimum 2.75 GPA at the time. Those are basic requirements necessary to get in. I encourage you to look at http://www.uttyler.edu/nursing/newsite/admission.html
to learn more about admission requirements. The campus itself is beautiful as it feels like a place for students. It can be social or secluded depending on your preference and the scenery with lakes, trees, and even ducks, is breathtaking! Nursing is our most popular major here so I can tell it would be a stellar decision to apply here as life after here is very promising.
If you have any further or more specific questions, feel free to email me at osokale@uttyler.edu.
