Good Luck on Finals!

Another semester is closing to an end. I feel torn about this. Of course I am looking forward to summer without class, sleeping in late, lounging by the pool, and not waking up to that pesky alarm clock. However, I am not looking forward to finals week ....

So this is a quick blog to tell all my fellow Patriots LOTS AND LOTS of luck as we embark on yet another finals week here at UT Tyler . Remember to do your course evaluations as well on myUTTylers , so you can check your grades earlier!

It's a bitter sweet moment for me as well, having to say good bye to friends here at Tyler as I go back home to Allen next weekend. For all of those who are moving out for the summer and moving back home, I wish all of you a safe travel!

Just remember that the end is almost near! Do not give up! Always remember that pain is temporary, so stay up late night, chug those coffee, and get those bags under your eyes, because we have less than two weeks of school left! After these last few days pass, it's going to be worth it and to be able to say that you got through another semester. So finish strong! See you guys next semester!

The Close of the Year

Winter is coming in full force soon. This means for many the close of the Fall semester of 2013, visiting family, food, presents, carols, and renewing bonds with friends and kin alike.  As we all approach these wonderful times, there should be a moment taken to consider the state our lives are in.

How to Deal with Group Projects...

As we all may know by now that the end of semester is pretty much full of group projects and assignments. And from my personal experience, I believe that I have learned different techniques to handle group projects.
1.       Start ahead and get ideas together when the project is assigned.
2.       Become a leader and get the group members on track.
3.       Divide up the tasks with in the group. (Remember as a leader; take the responsibility of finishing up the project on time.)
4.       Give the group a personal due date to make sure the final project gets turned in on time.
5.       And most important of all, don’t let the group’s grade suffer because of one member. Talk to that individual if necessary. And keep your professor informed about the group updates.

Group projects need a lot of extra attention in order for it to turn out perfectly. It is very important to know how others can be affected in your group because of the lack of an individual’s responsibility.
Communication is another important factor to keep in mind. Everyone as a team needs to know the updates of the project. If for any reason you may have problem finishing up your part, just let the group leader know and the group members can work as a team to help that individual out. As long as everyone communicates well with others, group projects can be an easy A.
And of course, the professor can see the hard work that the group members have put in there. So don’t procrastinate, just work as a team to create a fun and successful assignments.
Good Luck everyone!

Semester in review

It's the end of the semester. Finals have stricken upon students. Everybody has their head in books trying to grasp a concept needed for their impending exam.
I am lucky enough to only have one exam this Wednesday and leaving for home that night.
So with this empty spaces of time between my studying. I have been reflecting upon this semester.

Here are the facts:
1. I was sick every month of the semester but only missed two classes total.
2. I worked mostly 3 day work weeks.
3. My schedule consisted of Class, homework, Work, sleep. Wash and repeat. I even made a shower time that I actually followed most of the time.

That's a summary of my semester in review. I think that it was a pretty good one overall. I'm ready for my almost month off before I start what I predict to be one of my hardest semesters of college yet.

It is the final countdown!

We've merrily come back from our week off for Thanksgiving break and are now back into the daily grind. I've been reminded repeatedly today, WE HAVE THREE WEEKS left. So we've begun the final countdown to the end of this semester.

So, I'd like to embark some wisdom on how to handle the pressure and stay on track.
I don't know about anybody else but this week has barely started and it already feels like it's going to be a verryy looonnng week.

  1. Schedule time to sleep.
Studying as much as you can will lead to sleep deprivation. This will not help you in the end game. So study and sleep responsibly!
  2. Eat healthy food.
All the sugars you consume can take a toll on you. So add something nutritious to every meal in the following weeks to help your brain defeat the evil exams!
 3. Keep down your stress level
While you're juggling everything else. Don't forget to relax every once and while. Otherwise the stress might negativity effect you. I bought a new shooter game for my PS Vita and this will be my de-stresser and watching series after series on Netflix.

that's all the wisdom I can impart to ya'll for now.  Add some of your own tips if I've forgotten anything! much appreciated!
