UT Tyler reschedules College Showcase: Education and Psychology!

     The College Showcase event for the College of Education and Psychology is rescheduled to occur on Monday, March 3 at The University of Texas at Tyler. Due to the icy conditions on its original day on February 12, the event could not take place. This time around should be beneficial for students who are looking at majoring in education or psychology!

     College Showcase was a week-long event from Monday, February 10 to Thursday, February 13 where the different majors on campus showcased what they offered to prospective students on different days. 

     The College of Education and Psychology showcase will allow students to tour the building where their classes will be held. The program will occur from 8:45 a.m. to 2 p.m. Students will have the opportunity to meet the education and psychology professors that they may have in their future courses. They will also get to tour the UT Tyler Innovation Academy. This academy is a new educational program for kids that integrates learning through technology and projects with an emphasis on science, technology, engineering and math. The goal of the program is to increase achievement among Texas students in the areas of science, engineering and mathematics.

     Prospective students will get to observe a UT Tyler elementary and junior high classroom in action. This will allow them to get exposed to the different resources that are offered at the university. Prospective students will also tour the campus to get acquainted with and become more knowledgeable about what the university offers and where everything is. Representatives will be available to answer any admissions or financial aid questions. Lunch will also be provided!

     That week was packed full of events. Students were able to experience their potential school close handed. The showcase is a great opportunity for students to get exposed to some of the components that UT Tyler has. Having a whole day dedicated to your major is a rare opportunity to come by as this day is specifically targeted to one market, so you will have thorough information on anything that you want to know about your major.
