UT Tyler offers student volunteering opportunities

Students can volunteer through the University of Texas at Tyler Office of Leadership and Service, as they are provided with resources to different opportunities in town. Volunteering is a great way to give back to the community as a student. You get to help organizations in need and it just feels like the right thing to do!

UT Tyler Community Service

You can get registered to become a volunteer for the Give Back Program as well as track your service hours through the Office of Leadership and Service.

If you belong to an organization that needs service hours, such as Greek life, this is a great resource that UT Tyler offers. They partner with different local organizations who need community service people. Volunteering helps enhance your leadership skills as well as becoming more aware of social issues making you more aware of what's around you.

What other benefits is there to serving your community? You  can become eligible for scholarships. The Office of Leadership and Service awards students with the Bonnie and Scott Palmer Service Scholarship and the Stella Crews and Erwin Douglas Dyer Community Service Scholarship. If you would like to know more about these scholarship opportunities, contact the Office of Leadership and Service.

Some of the organizations that UT Tyler connects students with includes: Caldwell Zoo, Camp Tyler, the East Texas Food Bank. More organizations are listed on the Give Back web page.

You should definitely get out there and help out organizations. They would really appreciate your help. Any time you give to them creates a greater impact in how they run their establishment.
