The University of Texas at Tyler will host an event on
campus called College Showcase from Monday, February 10 to Thursday February
13. Every college will have its own day to showcase their degree programs to
prospective student. The College of Education and Psychology will present their
programs on Wednesday, February 12 from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
College
showcase is an event that mimics Preview Day but more into detail with each
college. If you want to pursue a career as a professor or a psychologist, it is
highly recommended that you come to this day!
You
will tour the education and psychology facilities, where students get to work
with education tools to prepare them for classroom experiences and where
psychology students are lectured about the human mind. This way you get to have
a preview of what your classrooms will be like. You will also be able to get to
meet and speak to the professors that you will potentially have in the future.
You will observe a UT Tyler elementary or junior high school classroom in
action. Visitors will also be able to experience how technology is being
utilized in the classrooms. Of course, you will also tour the campus in order
to get aquatinted with the university. There will be representatives to answer
any questions you may have about admissions or financial aid. Don’t worry about
food as lunch will be provided!
This is
a great opportunity for future students as the whole day is focused only on the
major that you will be, and not diverging into different events that relate to
something you may not be going into.
